Ahar is a city in the East Azerbaijan province of northwestern Iran, with a long tradition of rug weaving that dates back centuries. Ahar rugs are known for their bold geometric patterns, strong tribal character, and rich use of colour — particularly deep reds and warm earth tones. Woven by hand using high-quality wool, they are built to last and only grow more beautiful with age.
