A little about this one:
The Bakhtiari are one of the great tribal weaving peoples of Iran, from the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province in the Zagros Mountains of western Iran. Bakhtiari rugs are celebrated for their bold, exuberant designs — rich floral and garden compositions worked in a warm and varied palette, with a vitality and generosity of spirit that makes them among the most joyful of all Persian rugs.
The garden design is one of the most iconic motifs in Bakhtiari weaving — a repeating pattern of compartments, each filled with flowering trees, plants, and blossoms, evoking the Persian paradise garden. The rich red ground on this piece gives the design real warmth and depth, with the garden composition filling the field with colour and life.
A warm, joyful, and characterful vintage rug — the exuberant spirit of Bakhtiari weaving in one of its most beloved designs.
